Boykin Spaniel Hunt & Field

The AKC allowed the Boykin to
compete in the AKC Spaniel Hunt Tests on January 1, 2006. Starting December
1, 2009 the Boykin Spaniel entered full AKC registration. At that time the
AKC also allowed the BSCBAA to begin the process of application to host
their own AKC sanctioned Spaniel Hunt Tests.
The BSCBAA's Hunt & Field
Education Standing Committee works with the AKC and AKC affiliated groups to
help educate AKC trainers, judges and breeders interpret the mental &
instinctual creation of the Boykin Spaniel's founding breeder,
Lemuel Whitaker "Whit" Boykin (1861-1932). The Committee creates educational
materials and hosts training events for the membership, public, and AKC
judges to help expand knowledge on this Spaniel breed's hunting abilities.
The Committee is also responsible for all AKC sanctioned events and parent
club Working Tests.
As a fully recognized AKC
breed, the Boykin Spaniel parent club may now begin drafting an AKC Boykin
Spaniel Field Trial plan. Please submit any ideas and information in writing
to the Hunt & Field Committee.
Please

involving educational opportunities. Click here for the current list of
